When the Office Meets the Field: Behind the Scenes of CropX's Recruitment Film
How do you turn a global climate crisis into a recruitment video you can't stop watching? We built a full office in the middle of a field — and the result broke every rule.

When the Office Meets the Field
The biggest challenge in creating employer branding films for tech companies is escaping dry clichés. Instead of showing another ping-pong table in a square office, we took CropX's developers and data scientists to the heart of the agricultural field — where their technology actually works.

Building the Hook
The film opens with a sharp contrast: dark global footage of crowded populations, dry earth, and extreme storms — immediately cutting to an ironic open studio in the middle of an agricultural field. Desks, laptops, and team members standing in mud and grass: a striking, humorous, yet sharp and memorable visual.
The opening uses the "massive global problem" technique — growing populations, climate crises, agricultural difficulties — immediately resolving the tension with humor that reveals the real purpose: recruiting employees for an innovative AgTech company reshaping global agriculture.
Technical Challenges in Field Production
Open-Field Logistics
Setting up a complete office environment — desks, computers, cables and peripherals — in the middle of an active agricultural field required precise planning. We dealt with direct sunlight, changing winds, while maintaining a clean, professional aesthetic under an open sky.
Balancing Humor and Drama

Creating the sharp transition from the serious apocalyptic opening to the comic, light scenes demanded precision in editing rhythm and comedic timing. The edit pace awakens with CEO Tomer Tzach's entrance — becoming rhythmic, light and energetic, with fast cuts that hold the viewer to the end.
Insights for Marketing & HR Teams
Authenticity beats scripted content: When the company CEO and employees actively participate and playfully engage with the camera, target audience trust in the company's transparency skyrockets.
Story with purpose: Connecting a major global challenge — the water and food crisis — to an individual employee's role in a company, creates strong internal motivation in prospective candidates.
The film positions CropX not just as a tech startup, but as an organization with global vision, unique personality, self-aware humor, and a cohesive young culture — exactly what attracts the best talent in the market.
